Copenhagen
Anyone paying attention to the Copenhagen climate summit is probably overwhelmed by the numbers, negotiations, rumors and rants plastering the media. The scoreboard above tries to simplify all of that by projecting the temperature changes expected under the current agreements.
The estimates are generated using the C-ROADS software, a sort of “climate model lite” for decision makers, so I’d take the projections with a grain of salt and a few error bars. I actually appreciate the fact that they’ve included a distribution instead of an “average.” It shows intellectual honesty and helps people to understand that we don’t have pinpoint accuracy in our climate models. And thats… okay….
